Service and Repair Technician

As the Repair & Service Technician, you will primarily be responsible for the repair and reconditioning of reclosures, regulators, and single and three phase transformers. Duties also include supporting testing function, conducting inventory counts, and quality assurance inspections.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Conduct a visual inspection to determine work required.
  • Repair & recondition reclosers and regulators in accordance with customer specifications.
  • Check, assess & record results on repair data sheets.
  • Prepare components to be sent out for replating and recycling.
  • Perform hold point inspections following Quality Assurance guidelines.
  • Testing single and three phase Transformers, regulators & reclosers as required.
  • Complete monthly and yearly inventory counts.
  • Performing other duties as allocated.

WHAT IT TAKES

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience using hand tools.
  • Experience with the manufacturing process is considered an asset.
  • Possesses a mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing that is required.
  • Ability to work at sustained pace and produce quality work.
  • Ability to plan & meet deadlines; the flexibility to adapt if priorities change.
  • Demonstrated precision and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check for the duration of employment.
