ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a transitional position, focusing on payroll, benefits and providing administrative/clerical support to the HR/Safety Department, while the incumbent is on leave. When the incumbent returns, there is an  opportunity for the position to transition into a more advanced HR role.

Current tasks include:

•  Processing bi-weekly payroll & administering group benefits
•  Responding to employee inquires
•  Monitoring training & performance management schedules
• Job postings

Future tasks:

•  Recruiting: review resumes, administer pre-employment testing, interviewing candidates, drafting offer letters, & gathering required documents
•  Onboarding: scheduling/conducting orientation & training
•  Provide back-up to Payroll/Benefits Assistant

ABOUT YOU

You have:

•  A “How can I help?” attitude (customer service skills)
•  Organizational & time management skills
•  Proven ability to learn quickly
•  Superior written/verbal communication skills
• A keen eye for detail
•  Ability to work with minimal direction, a self-starter
• Intermediate expertise with Microsoft Word & Excel
•  Certificate in HR or Payroll Compliance Practitioner
• Payroll/accounting & benefits admin experience
• Demonstrated ability to work with databases an asset
