OVERALL ACCOUNTABILITY:
This position will research, develop, and execute the criteria required to achieve the Safety Certificate of Recognition (“COR”) and any
other certifications the company identifies, e.g., ISO 45001.

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:
In addition to other tasks that may be assigned, the position is responsible for:
• Meeting all requirements for a Certificate of Recognition (“COR”), including a successful audit in 2023
• Occupational Health & Safety Committee (“OHC”) Duties
• Monitor & Update Vendor Pre-Qualification & Online Sites
• Oversee Required Inspections Are Completed on Time (e.g., equipment pre-use, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, etc.)
• Training, Education & Other Employee Activities
– facilitate in-house health & safety training/education sessions & safety talks
– identify training gaps & schedule training when required
• Coordinate Return-to-Work planning activities
• Administration & Clerical Duties
– prepare safety statistical reporting
– filing (paper or electronic)
– preparation of training materials & PowerPoint presentations
– manage 1st aid supplies inventory & stock first aid kits when required
– maintain Safety Info Boards
Once COR is achieved, duties will expand to include environmental standards, with a corresponding upgrade in position and compensation.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Completion of OH&S Certificate program & 3 years related experience, OR
• Holding/working towards a CHSC/CSC/NCSO designation
• Intermediate or advanced skills in MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint; quick and accurate data entry/keyboarding
• Ability to work independently, while part of a team

• Analytical with demonstrated research skills and Effective writing skills (policies and communications); ability to speak clearly
